The Mailpiece Quality Control Program was designed for those
who wish to enhance their knowledge of the requirements associated
with mailpiece design. It is a self-paced, self-study training
program covering the following topics:
• Classes of Mail
• Periodicals
• Processing Categories
• Addressing
• USPS Barcodes
• Automation Requirements
• Nonautomation Mailings
• Postage Payment Methods
• Reply and Return Mail
• Special Services
After completing the course, you have the option to complete
a final exam (now available online) and become an ‘MQC
Specialist’. MQC Specialists are recognized throughout
the industry for their high level of proficiency in mailpiece
design and addressing standards. You will receive a certificate
and a lapel pin. This certification is valid for a two-year
period. The MQC Specialists list is available in HTML or PDF.
Listed below are the available options
and links to the Self-Study Guide and the order form (everything
you need to get started).
Option 1: The Administrator’s Guide is
helpful for facilitating the course to a group of students.
It is available for $5 each.
Option 2: The Student Guide can
be downloaded from the Student Guide link below free of charge.
However, hardcopy Student Guides are available for $20 each.
Option 3: The Resource Kit contains
useful tools to assist you in completing
the course. It includes:
• Postal Templates
• MQC Resource Guide
The MQC Resource Guide provides descriptions and online
locations to the Quick
Service Guides, DMM, Postal
Bulletin,
Memo to Mailers, MailPro, RIBBS and much
more. The Resource Kit is available for $5.
Option 4: The Final Examination is available in hardcopy or on-line. The hardcopy includes
the final examination only at a cost of $25. The on-line final examination includes the final examination only electronically at a cost of $12.
