- Import licenses are required for many types of goods. Therefore, senders should ascertain from the addressee before mailing whether the necessary documents are held.
- Licenses are not required for bona fide gifts not exceeding R 200 (Rand) in value.
- Coins; banknotes; currency notes (paper money); traveler’s checks; platinum, gold, and silver (manufactured or not); precious stones; jewelry; and other valuable articles are admitted only in Registered Mail.
