October DMM Update

Postal Explorer (pe.usps.com) always provides the most up-to-date version of the DMM. It’s fully searchable and features fly-out menus and cross-reference links for easy navigation. Today we updated our mailing standards to capture the following changes:

Periodicals Mailed by the General Public
We revised 153.3.1, 163.3.1, 453.2.2, and 463.2.1 to clarify that the general public may mail copies of Periodicals publications at the applicable single-piece First-Class Mail, Priority Mail, or Package Services rate.

DSCF Mail Entered at BMCs
We revised 455.4.0, 456.2.0, 466.4.1, and 466.5.1 to allow mailers to enter pallets for all ZIP Codes at the designated SCF in Labeling List L005. We also removed exhibits that are now included in the Drop Shipment Product.

USPS Drop Shipment Product
We made revisions throughout the DMM to remove references to a "charge" for the USPS Drop Shipment Product. Mailers can download the Drop Shipment Product from the USPS Web site.

Change of Address Orders
We revised 507.2.1.4 to expand our methods of accepting change-of-address orders.

Labeling Lists
We revised labeling lists L001, L002, L003, L007, L011, L201, and L606 to reflect changes in mail processing operations.
