Building Better Standards July DMM Update

The DMM on Postal Explorer (pe.usps.com) is your up-to-date source for mailing standards. The search features and fly-out menus make it easy to get around and find whatever you need.

Check the Summary of Changes for a complete listing of DMM updates since January. You will find revisions listed by effective date and also by chapter, with clickable links to revised sections.

We made the following changes to our mailing standards in July.

Securing Bundles on Pallets
Mailers now have the option to secure bundles with two or more bands when those bundles are placed on bulk mail center pallets. We revised the advanced mailing procedures in 705.8.5.

Pallet Labels
Mailers may now use a minimum of 12-point type when printing origin office information on barcoded pallet labels. The advanced mailing procedures in 705.8.6 include this change.

Labeling Lists
We revised labeling list L009 to reflect changes in mail processing operations.
