Bundling Flat-Size and Irregular Parcel Mail

We published a notice in today’s Federal Register requiring mailers to use two bands to secure all bundles of presorted flat-size mail and irregular parcels when those bundles are not shrinkwrapped. The new standards will improve integrity for even small bundles, 1-inch thick or less, processed on our high-speed equipment. This change is effective April 30, 2006.
