Mailing Sharps Waste and Other Regulated Medical Waste

We published a notice in today’s Federal Register [HTML| PDF] revising the standards for mailing medical waste. The new standards are effective today and allow packages approved as “Medical Professional Packaging” to weigh up to 35 pounds, while requiring additional packaging safeguards. The new standards ensure safe, easy, and cost-effective mailing options for these materials.
