Intelligent Mail Services Update

FAST Outage (September 20) FAST maintenance has been scheduled for Sunday, September 20, 2009.  A system-wide outage for FAST is planned for Sunday, September 20 during the scheduled maintenance window of 4:00 am CT to 8:00 am CT.  During this outage, FAST online scheduling will be unavailable.  FAST Web Services messages sent during this time will be queued and processed after the maintenance is complete. If appointments are needed during the outage window, please schedule these appointments by September 20, 2009 at 3:00 am CT.

Updated Mail.XML Technical Spec:  The USPS has published the updated Postal Service Mail.XML Technical Specification on RIBBS in support of IDEAlliance Mail.XML Errata B publication.  The USPS will support the fixes made to several messages in Mail.XML Errata B in the November, 2009 PostalOne! Release 22.  For details on the changes made to the Postal Service Mail.XML Technical Specification, please visit RIBBS and review the pertinent volume(s):

Webinar:  Sunset of Mail.dat 8-1 & Migration of Mail.dat 8-2 to the MDR Client:  The next Intelligent Mail Webinar is scheduled for Friday, September 18, 2:00-4:00 PM EDT. The session is entitled Sunset of Mail.dat 8-1 & Migration of Mail.dat 8-2 to the MDR Client. We will explain that the PostalOne! system will no longer accommodate Mail.dat version 8-1. We will also explain the necessity for mailers to update their Mail.dat version 8-2 by downloading the Mail.dat Re-design (MDR) client. To join the Web conference, see our Intelligent Mail Services, Latest News article on RIBBS. The link, phone number, and meeting ID will be posted there on September 14.

Full-Service Intelligent Answers:  We are conducting a series of telecons entitled Full-Service Intelligent Answers. The calls continue this Friday from 1:00-2:00 PM EDT. These calls are for customers who are testing file submission in the Test Environment for Mailers (TEM) or for customers who have migrated to using Full-Service in production and have questions or are experiencing issues. Mailers can exchange information among themselves and postal experts will be available to answer questions. If you are currently testing in TEM or have successfully completed the TEM process, but have not received an invitation to the calls, please contact the PostalOne! Help Desk at 1-800-522-9085.

National Postal Forum:  Save the date. The 2010 National Postal Forum is scheduled for April 11-14 in Nashville TN.

The document United States Postal Service Intelligent Mail Vision, July 2009 is available on RIBBS.

Assistance:  Please call the PostalOne! Help Desk at 1-800-522-9085 if you have any questions or problems accessing the Business Customer Gateway, your accounts, or submitting electronic documentation. The PostalOne! Help Desk is accessible from Canada at no charge.
