Updated Mail Transport Equipment Inventory

On September 1, 2007, the 01VM semi-transparent plastic mailbag replaced all but the following items in the Mail Transport Equipment (MTE) inventory:

§         01VM – Semi-transparent mailbag

§         12M – Priority Mail sack

§         20M – Express Mail sack

This is part of our ongoing effort to reduce the number of MTE inventory items. Facilities and mailers may continue to use mailbag inventory in their possession, but only those items listed above are available for order. 

When using 01VM mailbags, remember not to load them above the fill line and to completely close the hook and loop strip around the neck of the sack to contain the contents.  Also, ensure the slide label properly identifies the type of mail in each sack.
