Periodicals Pricing Change – Final Mailing Standards

We posted our final mailing standards today to accompany the Periodicals price change effective on July 15. The final standards in PDF and HTML formats are now available on usps.com/ratecase, and will appear in the Federal Register (both in print and online) next week.

The new Periodicals rates are based on pieces and pounds but also on bundles and containers for Outside-County pieces. Piece rates vary based on machinability, barcoding, and presort level. Bundle and container rates vary based on presort level and point of entry. The new Outside-County rate structure explicitly recognizes the cost differences between various bundles, containers, and entry points. For In-County Periodicals, the rate design is still based on pieces and pounds, as it is today, with new rates.
