IMb™ Services Update
Reminder: PostalOne!® Release 37.0.0 Deployment — scheduled for January 12, 2014, will require an extended maintenance window to complete all software updates. There will be a PostalOne! outage from midnight through 9 a.m. CST, Sunday, January 12, 2014. A mandatory Mail.dat® client download will be available immediately following the software update. Release notes for PostalOne! Release 37.0 can be found on RIBBS by clicking on Major/Minor Release Schedule/ 2014 Releases in the left-hand navigation bar or by going directly to Full Service 2014 Releases.
PostalOne! Release 37.0 Deployment to Test Environment for Mailers (TEM) — will occur on Monday, January 13, 2014, and PostalOne! TEM will be unavailable from 5:30 a.m. through 3 p.m. CST.
January 2014 Price Change and PostalOne! Release 37.0 Webinars will cover changes to the PostalOne! system that will be implemented on January 12, 2014, and price changes that will be implemented on January 26, 2014. Other topics will include the new requirements for Intelligent Mail parcel barcodes (IMpb), the new Metered Mail price, and Flat Sequencing System (FSS) mail preparation. January 26, 2014 Mailing Services and Shipping Services Price Change Update — Plant-Verified Drop Shipment — Mailing Services and Shipping Services prices are changing on January 26, 2014, so plant-verified drop shipment (PVDS) mailings will be verified and accepted as follows:
Current Prices — PVDS mailings verified and paid for before January 26, 2014, using the current prices, will be accepted at destination entry postal facilities through February 9, 2014, when presented with appropriate verification and payment documentation.
New Prices — PVDS mailings may be verified and paid for beginning January 13, 2014, using the new prices, provided the shipments are not deposited at destination entry postal facilities until January 26, 2014, or later, when presented with appropriate verification and payment documentation.
Full-Service Onboarding — The Postal Service encourages mailers to migrate to the use of Full-Service Intelligent Mail® when mailing First-Class Mail® postcards, letters, and flats, Standard Mail® letters and flats, Periodicals letters and flats and Bound Printed Matter flats.
Full-Service Related Webinars — We are hosting a series of webinars to assist mailers in the migration and we suggest mailers attend at least one of each session in the series to get the most out of using Full-Service Intelligent Mail. Log on links will be provided for these webinars when available.
