January DMM Update
Postal Explorer (pe.usps.com) is your source for domestic and international mailing standards. The Domestic Mail Manual is fully searchable and features fly-out menus, cross-reference links, and an extensive subject index. Today we updated our mailing standards to capture the following changes:
Attachments to Periodicals Publications We revised 707.3.3.8 to offer new placement options for stickers on covers of Periodicals publications.
First-Class Mail Letters With Postage Meter or PC Postage Indicia We revised 604.4.3.3 to require mailers to use fluorescent ink, a label containing fluorescence, or a facing identification mark on First-Class Mail letters paid with postage meter or PC Postage indicia. These markers will help our mail processing equipment identify the front of the mailpiece.
Packaging for Parcels Prepared on 5-Digit Pallets We revised 601.3.6 to expand the use of shrinkwrap as an optional packaging method for parcels on 5-digit pallets.
Money Orders We revised 503.14.2.2 and 503.14.3.2 to allow customers to purchase money orders in amounts up to $1,000 each with no daily maximum. We also restate the redemption requirements required by law.
Our next scheduled DMM update is February 14.
